Hi. My name is Yan Wang. I am a licensed Montessori preschool teacher and home family daycare provider. In addition, I am also a certified Mandarin language instructor. Like you, I have a young child. Providing my 2-year old daughter with the best early education is the most important decision I can make for her future.
I know you feel the same way. Finding the best preschool is the first important educational task for you as a parent. You want to give your child the very best start. When I tried to find the right preschool for my daughter, I could not find a preschool that matched my parental criteria.
I want a school for my child that provides great Montessori classroom fundamentals. As a licensed Montessori Preschool teacher, I find there are something missing in Montessori classroom. So I decided to create a special preschool that brings the best preschool education philosophies and tools together.
The Montessori Method of education, developed by Dr Maria Montessori, is a child-centered educational approach based on scientific observations of children from birth to adulthood. Dr. Montessori's Method has been used for over 100 years in many parts of the world.
Montessori curriculum includes 6 categories of activities:
The purpose of the materials are to help develop the concentration, confidence, independence, coordination, and problem solving skills for your child.
The Reggio Emilia Approach originated in the town (and surrounding areas) of Reggio Emilia in Italy out of a movement towards progressive and cooperative early childhood education.
There principles of Reggio Emilia are:
Waldorf education, also known as Steiner education, is based on the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, the founder of anthroposophy. Its pedagogy emphasizes the role of imagination in learning, striving to integrate holistically the intellectual, practical, and artistic development of pupils.
“A Waldorf education teaches kids how to think, not what to think, and to develop themselves as well-rounded individuals with an innate curiosity and love of learning,” says Jamie Quirk, Communications and Outreach Director at Waldorf School of Princeton in New Jersey. “When they leave the Waldorf environment, they are equipped to rely on their own inner compasses to help steer them on their individual journeys, rather than fit into one specific niche.”
At Little Hands Together Preschool, we integrate everything that is good for our kids. We are a Montessori Trilingual Preschool. We teach Mandarin, Spanish, and English. We provide the best Montessori preschool tools and practices and integrate key aspects of other early childhood education philosophies, including artistic creativity from Reggio and nurturing a child's imagination from Waldorf.

At Little Hands Together, our flexible curriculum, which enables students to work at their own pace, includes the following areas:
The mental benefits of learning a foreign language as a child show up in a numerous ways. Children who speak a foreign language perform better especially with testing in math and English than their monolingual peers.
They also start reading at an earlier age, and are better at understanding grammar. The mental benefits of learning a foreign language last into adulthood.
Mandarin and Spanish language exposure - start your child early in their exposure to the world's two most important languages besides English. The first three to four years of life are considered the best time for children to learn a second language. Prepare your child for the future, starting now.
At Little Hands Together, we have animal friends. We play and learn together everyday. We also take turns caring for them. Being with animals is good for improving children’s immunity. Taking care of animals and plants is a great way to teach children to be responsible and caring.
At Little Hands Together, we teach our children a letter per week, a color per week and a shape per week. We will ask our children to bring one thing from home according to the letter, color and shape they learn this week to show and share with classmate. This is a very effective way to teach children how to share. And also helps them to memorize what they learn better. Bring abstract concept to concrete concept is the best way to early childhood learning because they learn from five senses such as touching, visual, smelling, tasting and hearing.
At Little Hands Together, we promote music into our children’s daily life. We use songs throughout the day to help children transition from one activity to the next. For instance when its time to clean up, going outside, washing hands, before lunch time and most importantly during circle time. We have a Music teacher that will visit the school once a week. The children will have the opportunity to dance and create music using a variety of instruments.
At Little Hands Together, we will have Yoga class once a week. The children will learn how to relieve any stress they might have and will learn how to calm themselves by practicing how to breathe in and out.
At Little Hands Together we attach importance to develop our children’s art cell.
According to Reggio Emilia philosophy, children are born as artists. We do individual or group art program once a week. It is good for teaching our children about teamwork, learning cooperation and communication with others. Also, it motivates the creativity and manipulative ability.
At Little Hands Together we promote Physical Education because we firmly believe that children should be active while having fun. Physical Education plays a vital role in the development, growth, and learning process of children. It also provides experiences that allow the children to mature in working alone, with a partner, as a group member, and with a teacher.
At Little Hands Together we encourage healthy eating habits. Once a week we will have a cooking class where the children will be able to build basic skills, encourage an adventurous palate, explore with their senses, and build their self confidence.
At Little Hands Together we encourage children to participate in Dramatic Play. The reason being is because it allows children to explore their thoughts and feelings. This is a place where the children learn to use their imagination, socialize, and problem solve.
At little hands together we will have parents participate in day to day activities that occur at the school. This encourages communication between children and parents, which can foster higher self-esteem and confidence. It can also help children interact better with their peers and advance their social skills.
